Mackenzie
Guest Accommodation

Designed to nestle effortlessly into the dramatic Mackenzie Country landscape, this soon-to-be-built guest retreat integrates contemporary comfort with natural beauty. Positioned among wild tussock grasslands and framed in a vast mountainous backdrop, the design embodies both belonging and respect for its environment.

The layout features two bedrooms, each with a private ensuite, and a central living space, which includes reading nook, workout space and large woodburner, that opens to the surrounding landscape through floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Material selections are informed by the region’s character — Schist veneer forms a base for the stained timber board and batten cladding. Anthracite stone tiles at the entry transition to weathered oak flooring inside, adding warmth and texture, and completing a palette that’s both rustic and refined, and connected to place..
